One of six coffee-producing regions in Honduras, the Comayagua in the south-central part of the country is a wonder of hills and forests of pine trees, nutrient-rich red clay, and well defined wet and dry seasons. Rich with micro-climates, this region historically produced gold, copper, cinnabar, asbestos, and silver and well as gemstones such as opal and emerald and was known for its fine cattle.
Comayagua coffees carry their own classic regional flavor profile–sweet, fragrant with citrus, fruity flavors, creamy body and bright acidity. In fact, some incredible coffees are coming out of this region, including a recent Best of Honduras winner that scored a stellar 91.34 points.
